Focused Attention is a very crucial tool for regaining and maintaining your health. We dwell mostly on the physical part of our being because without enough strength the other three – mental, spiritual and emotional – are put on hold. I would like to quote from my mentor’s book Dr. Mick Hall. His workbook on The Five Principles of Balanced Health list Focused Attentions as follows: ” The principle of Focused Attention is the most powerful tool an individual can use for gaining control over his/her circumstances. This is what I refer to as the “cause behind the causes”. Is is the underlying cause of the issues we have been dealing with in the other four principles. The best health program in the world is in no way as powerful as the creative ability of the individual to build or to destroy. For this reason, it is essential to truly understand the principle of Focused Attention.
“Whoever or whatever we allow to direct the focus of our attention, indirectly, we are allowing to control our lives and create our circumstances to the degree of our emotional involvement. We must be aware of who we give our permission to for assisting us in reprogramming our internal computer because our emotional state is plugged directly into our physical well being.”
We are the product of our thoughts because we go where we are looking. If we wake up saying this is going to be a bad day then that is what will be prepared for us. Writing down what we are grateful for before going to sleep at night and reading it first thing in the morning even if it is one thing it will stay with us throughout the day. We have a powerful influence over our well being.
